We’re looking for factory workers who want to join our growing manufacturing team and help us build amazing green projects for clients across Ontario. We need detail-oriented candidates who have or are prepared to learn the skills required to contribute to our innovative business.
Location:
The Tooketree factory is located in Baysville, Ontario. Candidates must have their own transportation to get to the factory.
Position:
Join our team as an experienced carpenter or at the carpenter’s apprentice level, and help produce high-quality products efficiently. Safety is our number one priority. We are a living wage employer.
Required knowledge, skills and abilities:
Basic carpentry skills including but not limited to, framing, structural alterations, insulation and vapour barrier installation, window & door installation, exterior cladding, trim and other finish carpentry.
Must be able to problem solve using best practices and sound building science.
Ability to work in a team of 2-3 Tooketree crew members.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are an asset.
Keen attention to detail with the ability to track changes in scope and notify the construction manager.
The ability to read and work from building plans is an asset, including a working knowledge of the OBC.
Willingness to follow and uphold company policies and health & safety mandates.
Knowledge of green building approaches and building science is extremely desirable.
Workers must arrive on time for regular work shifts.
Willingness to commit to the holistic vision of Tooketree as a green building company and uphold its mandate at all times.
The candidate must have current WHMIS certification and fall protection training (or be willing to acquire this). Other licensure and/or certification such as a Carpentry License or Red Seal (or a discipline directly related to the requirements of this position) is preferred, but not expressly required.
Specific responsibilities:
Participate in building factory panels with assigned tasks.
Working safely and efficiently with other crew members, senior crew and management.
Following the Tooketree best practice building procedures.
Participating in all daily on-site duties and responsibilities.
Follow and support the directives of the team leader and operations Manager.
Helping to follow and support quality control of all Tooketree work and projects.
Understand and follow all Tooketree policies and procedures.
Terms of employment:
3-month trial probation followed with a performance review.
Mileage paid per km for material and tool runs.
